Dear East Rochester Elementary Families,
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!

We hope you have enjoyed the summer with your family. We are all very excited to welcome your child(ren) back to school. Below is some important information to note for the beginning of school:

● We are planning on having a Meet and Greet for supply drop-off. This will take place on Thursday, September 1 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. This Meet and Greet is for grades K-5. Pre-K will have their own separate orientation, with more information to follow. The purpose of the Meet and Greet is to familiarize your child(ren) with their new teachers, find colored entry doors, locate classrooms, and drop-off school supplies. (Note: Pre-K and Kindergarten teacher assignments will be mailed mid-August.)

● Arrival and dismissal doors have changed this school year. Our colored doors will continue to be used with a few modifications this year. These changes are outlined in teacher welcome letters, as well as the enclosed Meet and Greet flier. You are welcome to enter at your assigned door(s) on the day of the Meet and Greet to practice these new routines.

● Breakfast will return to BEFORE THE SCHOOL DAY at 7:45 a.m. Entry for breakfast is at the door opposite of the Elementary Cafeteria. (This door is located between the Middle Level Academy and District Office.) As a reminder, families will need to fill out the Free and Reduced Meals Form to be eligible for free or reduced breakfast and lunch this school year.

● Parent/Guardian signed Summer Learning Challenge forms are due back on the first day of school. We will celebrate our Summer Learning Challenge champions at our first elementary assembly on September 9. Therefore, it is important that you return this form by Tuesday, September 6 so that we can prepare. You can also hand the form in at the Meet and Greet.

We hope you enjoy your remaining days of summer. Please encourage your child to continue to read and practice math facts at home until the school year officially begins on Tuesday, September 6. We are committed to working in partnership with you to make this a wonderful school year for both you and your child(ren).

Sincerely,
