How to find your color door.

Dear East Rochester Elementary Families,
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! We hope you are enjoying summer with your family. We are very excited to welcome your child(ren) to school in less than a month. (Hard to believe, we know!) Below is some important information to note for the beginning of school:

  • We are planning on having a Meet and Greet for supply drop-off. This will take place on Tuesday, September 2 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. This Meet and Greet is for grades PK-5. The purpose of the Meet and Greet is to familiarize your child(ren) with their new teachers, find colored entry doors, locate classrooms and drop-off school supplies. (Note: Kindergarten teacher assignments will be mailed August 15. Supply lists are located in our July newsletter.)
  • Arrival doors are staggered for a smooth morning entry. Our colored doors will continue to be used this year. Please refer to your teacher welcome letter (Coming soon via Parent Square!) and the color door flier for more information. Please enter at your assigned door(s) on the day of the Meet and Greet to practice these new routines.
  • Dismissal is out the main entrance of the elementary school except for UPK and Kindergarten. Click here for more information on dismissal expectations.
  • Breakfast is PRIOR TO THE START OF SCHOOL. Entry for breakfast will take place at 7:45 a.m. at the door opposite of the Elementary Cafeteria (E05). This door is located between the Middle Level Academy and District Office.
  • Summer Learning Challenge participation documents/entries are due by the first day of school. (Information on these learning challenges can be found in our July newsletter.) We will celebrate our students who engaged in our reading and math challenges at our first Elementary assembly on the first Friday that we are back in session. Therefore, it is important that you return the reading challenge paperwork by Wednesday, September 3. The math challenge is a digital entry - so not to worry about that! You can also hand the reading challenge form at the Meet and Greet.

We hope you enjoy your remaining days of summer. Please encourage your child to continue to read and practice math facts at home until the school year officially begins on Wednesday, September 3. We are committed to working in partnership with you to make this a wonderful school year for both you and your child(ren).
  • As a reminder: K-5 school hours are 8:10-2:20. UPK school hours are 8:30-1:30. K-5 breakfast is from 7:45-8:10. Please arrive no earlier than 7:45 a.m. for breakfast. All UPK and Kindergarten students need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian at arrival and dismissal.

Sincerely,
Marisa Capuano
